A breathtaking waterfall with an 88m drop!
Located in Hara, Haga-cho, Shiso City, Hyogo Prefecture, Hara Fudo Falls is a magnificent waterfall with an 88-meter drop, and one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. It's a representative waterfall of the Hyōnosen-Kōyama-Nagiyama Quasi-National Park, captivating many visitors with its grandeur. Hara Fudo Falls consists of two waterfalls: Otoko-taki (Male Falls), which cascades down in three tiers, and Onna-taki (Female Falls), which merges with Otoko-taki at the bottom. The powerful spray of Otoko-taki creates a breathtaking spectacle, as if water were pouring down from the heavens. In contrast, Onna-taki flows gently, its serene beauty conveying a quiet strength. Surrounded by a primeval forest, the area offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The scenery changes beautifully throughout the year: vibrant spring greenery, refreshing summer breezes, vivid autumn foliage, and stunning winter snowcapes. A suspension bridge for viewing the falls, called "Oku Kaede Bridge," provides a spectacular vantage point. From the bridge, you can appreciate both the power of the falls and the beauty of the surrounding forest. Along the walking path from the parking lot to the falls, you'll find Fudo-do Hall, the namesake of the falls. Legend says it was established by Kobo Daishi, and it has been a site of religious devotion for centuries. Hara Fudo Falls is a truly breathtaking spot where you can experience the power and beauty of nature. Why not refresh your mind and body in the surrounding environment of majestic waterfalls and lush nature?
