Overview

Mount Katsuragi, reaching a height of 959.2 meters, sits on the border between Gose City in Nara Prefecture and Chihayaakasaka Village in Minami Kawachi District, Osaka Prefecture. It holds the title of Osaka Prefecture's highest peak and is also included in the prestigious list of the Three Hundred Famous Mountains of Japan. The summit area, known as Katsuragi Kogen, transforms into a stunning pink spectacle in spring with its profusion of azaleas. Autumn brings equally captivating views with vibrant foliage, drawing both hikers and casual visitors alike. Access to Mount Katsuragi is via the Kintetsu Gose Line to Gose Station, followed by a Nara Kotsu bus to Katsuragi Ropeway-mae, and then the Katsuragi Ropeway.
