Mount Kōjōyama is a local mountain (satoyama) located in Toyosaka, Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, reaching an elevation of 911.7 meters. Situated to the east of Azumino, it's known as part of the "Higashiyama" (Eastern Mountains) along with Nagamineyama to the north. Approximately 1,500 cherry trees line the path to the summit, transforming it into a popular cherry blossom viewing destination in spring. The relatively easy climb takes about an hour from the base, making it ideal for beginners. Mount Kōjōyama has long been cherished by the local community. At the summit sits Kofuku Shrine, dedicated to the fire deity. Beyond cherry blossoms, the mountain boasts a variety of flora, offering beautiful scenery throughout the year.
