Joyama Park in Matsumoto City is a park located on a hilltop overlooking the city, renowned as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring. The observation deck offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Matsumoto's cityscape, the Northern Alps, and the beautiful Azumino plains. The park boasts a rich history, dating back to 1843 in the late Edo period when Mitsuyoshi Matsudaira, the eighth lord of the Shinano Matsumoto clan, planted cherry trees and other trees, opening it to the public.
