Overview

Happou Pond is a high-mountain lake located at an altitude of approximately 1,500m at the foot of Mount Hakuba in the Northern Alps. Filled with spring water originating from Mount Hakuba and surrounded by towering mountains, it offers a spectacular view. Happou Pond is approximately a 40-minute ride from Hakuba Station on the Alpico bus, followed by a 10-minute walk from Happou Bus Terminal. The highlight of Happou Pond is undoubtedly its stunning scenery. On a clear day, Mount Hakuba is reflected on the lake's surface, creating a mirror-like effect. The contrast with the surrounding mountains is beautiful, allowing you to fully appreciate the grandeur of the Northern Alps. Happou Pond also boasts a captivating beauty throughout the year. In spring, melting snow creates a vibrant blue glow on the lake's surface. Summer showcases lush greenery reflected in the water, while autumn paints the mountains with vibrant fall foliage.
