Overview

Takimizu-ji Daihō is a temple located at the foot of the Asahi mountain range in the Ou Mountains, which has been a center of faith for many years. While the exact founding date is unknown, it is believed to date back to the Heian period. Despite suffering several fires throughout its history, it has been rebuilt to its present form. Here, you can experience the history and tradition cultivated over many years, while also enjoying a relaxing time in a naturally rich environment. The temple grounds boast centuries-old giant trees, offering stunning views throughout the year. The scenery is breathtaking, especially during the fresh green of spring and the vibrant autumn foliage. Many historic buildings remain on the grounds, including a bell tower, a kitchen building (kuri), and a study (shoin), offering a journey back in time. Takimizu-ji Daihō is recommended for those seeking a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The serene and solemn atmosphere, backed by majestic mountains, provides a calming and restorative experience. Escape daily stress and refresh your mind and body.
