A unique open-air museum featuring replicas of statues from around the world!
The "Roofless Museum" is a unique, approximately 400m-long open-air museum created in 1989 using the former track bed of the old Kokugaku Line of the JR railway. Based on four themes—"Creation of a peaceful space," "Return to antiquity," "Coexistence with nature," and "Creation for the future"—it displays replicas of statues from around the world. Highlights include impressive replicas of statues from various locations, such as the Moai statues of Easter Island and the Sphinx of Egypt. Their scale and presence are so realistic you might feel like you're seeing the real thing! Developed as a greenway park, you can stroll along while admiring the world's statues. It's a space enjoyable for both children and adults, making it perfect for families. With excellent access, just a 1-minute walk from JR Nakama Station, it's easy to stop by. Nakama Station and Nakama City Hall are nearby, and the area boasts numerous restaurants and convenience stores, making it a convenient base for sightseeing.
