Overview
Opened in 1998, the Chigasaki City Museum is a relatively new museum but has already become a beloved part of the community. The museum displays many works featuring Chigasaki's cityscape and nature, offering a glimpse into the local culture and history. Special exhibitions showcase contemporary art and traditional crafts from Japan and abroad, ensuring there's always something new to discover. The surrounding Takasago Green Park boasts a spacious lawn and walking paths, perfect for a stroll or picnic. Chigasaki Station and Chigasaki Beach are within walking distance, making it a convenient spot for sightseeing. The Chigasaki City Museum is a charming place to experience art and nature.
Train: 8-minute walk south from the south exit of JR Chigasaki Station, along Takasago-dori Street.
Bus: Take the Eboshi-go Community Bus from the south exit of the same station. Board the Nakaminato-Minamiko Junkan Shiritsu Byoin-sen line (approx. 1 minute) and get off at "②Toshokan-mae" (Library Front). The entrance to Takasago Green Park is about 70 meters from the bus stop.
Car: From the Shinshonan Bypass [Chigasaki Kaigan IC], head towards Enoshima (left two lanes), turn left at the [Yanajima] intersection, continue on National Route 134, turn left at the [Yakujyo-mae] intersection, and continue straight for about 800 meters.
