The Musashino City Kichijoji Art Museum, opened in February 2002, is situated in the bustling city of Kichijoji, fostering a connection between daily life and arts and culture. Its collection boasts approximately 2600 pieces, including Japanese paintings by Koku Noda, oil paintings, prints, and photographs. The museum's "Planning Exhibition Room" hosts various themed exhibitions showcasing a diverse range of expressions, including contemporary art, in addition to works from its collection. It also serves as a "Citizens' Gallery," providing a platform for local artists to showcase their work. The "Yozo Hamaguchi Memorial Room" and "Hideo Hagihara Memorial Room" offer permanent exhibitions of prints and related materials by these two artists. The museum is dedicated to educational outreach activities, including lectures and workshops, striving to be a place where people can "observe, create, and nurture" art, despite its modest size.
