Overview
The Yokosuka Museum of Art, located in Kannonzaki Park in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, opened on April 28, 2007, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Yokosuka City's founding. Designed by architect Ryohei Yamamoto, its distinctive glass and steel structure stands out dramatically against the backdrop of Tokyo Bay's stunning scenery. The museum features a high-ceilinged exhibition gallery and other open spaces filled with natural light, providing an ideal environment for appreciating contemporary art. Its collection boasts approximately 5,000 pieces, including works by artists with ties to Yokosuka and the Miura Peninsula, pieces depicting the region, and seascapes. An annex, the Tanouchi Rokuro Museum, showcases the works of Tanouchi Rokuro. The Yokosuka Museum of Art is a captivating destination where you can appreciate contemporary art, majestic natural beauty, and architectural excellence.
From Keikyu Line's Mabori-kaigan Station, take the Keikyu Bus bound for Kannonzaki (Su24, Ma24) and get off at the "Lavista Kannonzaki Terrace / Yokosuka Museum of Art" stop. It's about a 2-minute walk from there.
From Keikyu Line's Uraga Station, take the Keikyu Bus bound for Kannonzaki (Ura3) and get off at the final stop, Kannonzaki. It's about a 5-minute walk from there.

Eating and drinking inside the building is prohibited except for light refreshments in designated areas. Picnics are allowed on the lawns outside, but be aware of black kites! (They swoop down from above and may try to steal your food.)
