A park preserving the remains of Tottori Castle, including its stone walls and moats, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Tottori City. In spring, the park is ablaze with cherry blossoms, creating a stunning spectacle.
Tottori Castle Ruins & Kusumatsu Park is an urban park located in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. This is the site of Tottori Castle, which once flourished as the castle of the Tottori Domain. Built in 1600, the castle is also listed as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. Built on 94-meter-high Kusumayama, the castle's sturdy stone walls and moats still convey the grandeur of the castle. Although the main keep was demolished after the abolition of the feudal domains in 1871, the park preserves the remaining structures such as stone walls and moats, allowing visitors to imagine the castle's structure and scale. The park offers breathtaking panoramic views of Tottori City, particularly stunning in spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. During cherry blossom season, the park bustles with many tourists enjoying the hanami (cherry blossom viewing). Well-maintained walking paths throughout the park invite leisurely strolls. Beloved by many, it's a park where you can enjoy the natural beauty of each season while experiencing a piece of history.
