Overview

Kanoya Castle Ruins Park is located in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, and stands on the site of Kanoya Castle, built during the Sengoku period by Lord Kamei Korenori. Within the park, you can still see remnants of the original stone walls and moats, allowing you to step back in time and experience the atmosphere of the Warring States period. The stonework at the summit, along with the inner and outer moats, particularly vividly evoke the castle's past, making this a must-see for history buffs. In spring, around 500 Someiyoshino cherry trees burst into bloom, painting the park in a breathtaking pink hue. During cherry blossom season, the park attracts numerous visitors enjoying the spectacle of *hanami* (cherry blossom viewing). Evening illuminations add a magical, otherworldly ambiance, offering a different perspective from the daytime views. Well-maintained walking paths wind throughout the park, inviting leisurely strolls. From these paths, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and rice paddies, offering a relaxing escape surrounded by nature. Kanoya Castle Ruins Park is a wonderful place to experience both history and nature. If you're visiting Tottori Prefecture, be sure to include this park in your itinerary.
