Odori Park

Overview

Odori Park is a vibrant green oasis, stretching approximately 1.5km east-west, and a symbol of Sapporo. Completed in 1911 based on Sapporo's urban planning, the park features a central pedestrian walkway about 100m wide, flanked by flowerbeds bursting with seasonal blooms. Spring brings a riot of colorful tulips, transforming the park into a breathtaking spectacle. In late May, the Sapporo Lilac Festival blankets the park in a fragrant sea of lilacs. Summer sees the opening of beer gardens, bustling with activity late into the night. Autumn paints the park in stunning hues of autumn leaves, creating a serene atmosphere. Winter sees the park transformed into the venue for the Sapporo Snow Festival, showcasing magnificent snow and ice sculptures, creating a magical winter wonderland.
