Lake Nakatsuna

Lake Nakatsuna is one of the three Mikko Lakes located in the northern part of Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture. Situated at an elevation of 762 meters, it boasts a circumference of approximately 2.2 kilometers and an area of about 0.14 square kilometers. This tectonic lake was formed on a graben caused by the Itoigawa-Shizuoka Tectonic Line, with the Northern Alps rising majestically to the west. Lake Nakatsuna is famous for its breathtaking spring scenery, where cherry blossoms are beautifully reflected on the lake's surface. A cherry blossom-lined path stretches along the lakeshore, creating a spectacular display of blossoms covering the lake.
