Overview
Located in Wasa, Gero City, Gifu Prefecture, Naedazawa Sakura refers to two Yoshino cherry trees, each approximately 350-400 years old. Because their blooming period is consistent every year, it's said that local farmers used to rely on their blossoming as a sign to begin preparing for rice planting. Also known as Koyomi Sakura (Calendar Cherry) and Yakushi-sama no Sakura (Yakushi Buddha's Cherry), these trees are beloved by the locals.
Naedazawa Sakura's peak bloom is typically from early to mid-April. The sight of two cherry trees in full bloom is truly awe-inspiring. The reflection of the blossoms in the water is especially stunning and breathtaking.
At night, the trees are illuminated, offering a different, magical atmosphere.
The surrounding area features serene paddy fields, providing a tranquil environment for relaxation.
Gero Onsen is also nearby, allowing you to enjoy both hot springs and cherry blossoms.

Train: About a 30-minute walk from JR Takayama Line Yaikeshi Station. From Gero Station, take the Gero Bus Nakahara Line and get off at Yamato Bridge (approx. 30 minutes), then walk for about 2 minutes.
Car: Cross Nakahara Ohashi Bridge from National Route 41, and proceed on Gifu Prefectural Road 432 Monwa Saseto Line for about 2km.
Parking: Approximately 230 spaces available. A sightseeing bus tour is available from Gero Onsen during the illumination period. Show route
