A breathtaking cherry blossom avenue with approximately 2,000 cherry trees in full bloom!
Teraoka-gahara Senbonzakura Park, located in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, boasts a beautiful cherry blossom avenue stretching approximately 2 kilometers. It all began in 1952 when local residents planted about 300 cherry trees. This planting project was driven by a wish for peace after the Pacific War. Today, approximately 2,000 cherry trees bloom brilliantly, announcing the arrival of spring with their exquisite beauty. The peak season is usually from early to mid-April, attracting many visitors during this time. The park features not only the cherry blossom avenue but also well-maintained walking paths, restrooms, and a parking lot. With parking for 250 cars, access by car is convenient. A shop within the park sells light snacks and drinks, including sakura-mochi (cherry blossom-flavored rice cakes) and Gohei-mochi (grilled rice cakes on skewers). From the pink blossoms of spring to the crimson hues of autumn, Teraoka-gahara Senbonzakura Park offers beautiful scenery throughout the year. Come and enjoy its ever-changing beauty across the seasons.
