The Yukio Tabuchi Memorial Hall showcases the works and belongings of Yukio Tabuchi, a mountain photographer and high-altitude butterfly researcher who thrived amidst Azumino's rich natural landscape. Driven by his belief that "knowledge gleaned from nature is the truest," Tabuchi repeatedly climbed the mountains of Azumino and the Northern Alps, documenting high-altitude butterflies and capturing stunning mountain photographs. The hall displays a vast collection of his works, along with his cherished cameras, tents, and other mountaineering equipment. The Yukio Tabuchi Memorial Hall houses and exhibits approximately 72,000 items, including films and glass dry plates. Videos documenting his life's work, along with his favorite cameras and mountaineering equipment, offer a profound insight into Tabuchi's life and deep love for nature.
