Located right next to the Tottori Sand Dunes, the "Sand Museum" is the world's first museum showcasing sculptures made entirely of sand. Under the overall production of Katsuhiko Chaen, a sand sculptor and producer who is active both domestically and internationally, the museum features a new theme every year. By inviting sand sculptors from countries around the world, it displays world-class sand sculptures, attracting visitors from all over the globe.
Because the sculptures are made of sand, they are naturally ephemeral, and this fleeting nature is part of their beauty and charm. Don't miss the chance to see these precious works of art that can only be viewed here and now.
The museum also introduces the sand sculpture creation process and the types of sand used in the sculptures, offering a deeper understanding of the world of sand sculpture. We highly recommend a visit!
The museum is also surrounded by the Tottori Sand Dunes, a museum shop, and a cafe, making it a complete experience. Be sure to visit the Sand Museum when you visit the Tottori Sand Dunes.
