Okazaki Castle stands in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. Famous as the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, it's also known as "Ryūga-jō" (Dragon Castle). Ieyasu spent his childhood here before achieving national unification. Okazaki Castle holds significant historical value and was selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles in 2006.
The current Okazaki Castle is a three-story, five-tiered reconstructed keep built in 1959. From the keep, you can enjoy panoramic views of Okazaki City. The museum within the castle provides insights into the history and culture of Okazaki Castle. Furthermore, the castle town offers unique culinary experiences, including Hachijo miso (a type of miso) and Okazaki ohanan (a type of chrysanthemum).
Okazaki Castle is a wonderful place where history, culture, and nature harmonize. Visit Okazaki Castle and experience the place associated with Ieyasu.
