A lush green oasis in the heart of the city. Enjoy the flowers and scenery throughout the four seasons.
Tokugawaen Garden is a beautiful Japanese garden built on the former site of the residence of Yoshinao Tokugawa, the first lord of the Owari domain, established by Yoshinao Tokugawa in 1610. After the Meiji Restoration and the abolition of the feudal system (haibaku-chiken), the grounds eventually opened to the public. Tokugawaen is a vibrant green oasis in the city, offering stunning seasonal beauty. From cherry blossoms in spring to autumn foliage, the garden offers breathtaking views year-round. The expansive grounds include ponds, waterfalls, bridges, and other elements of traditional Japanese garden design, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for a relaxing stroll. The garden also features tea houses and restaurants where you can unwind and savor the moment. Tokugawaen is also a historically significant site; remnants of the former lord's residence and other period structures remain, allowing visitors to connect with the past. Tokugawaen offers a precious opportunity to escape the city bustle and immerse yourself in nature and history.
