The Former Yasuda Kusuo Residence Garden is a historical Japanese house and garden in Sendagi, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, built in the Taisho era. It was the residence of Zen shiro, the son-in-law of Zenjiro Yasuda, the founder of the Yasuda Zaibatsu, and is now open to the public.
While the house is built in a modern Japanese style, the reception room boasts a Western design. The view of the changing Japanese landscape throughout the year from the reception room is a true blend of Western and Japanese aesthetics. Intricate craftsmanship is evident throughout, and the attention to detail extends to the interior, including lamps and curtains.
The garden is a tranquil space incorporating traditional elements of Japanese gardens, such as a pond, trees, and stonework, while also possessing a modern sensibility. Beautiful plants bloom throughout the year, providing a serene and relaxing space for a stroll.
The Former Yasuda Kusuo Residence Garden is a precious place where you can experience history and culture and find peace. It's highly recommended for those seeking respite from the bustle of the city and a moment of quiet contemplation.
