Following a 2005 renovation of its jellyfish exhibit, the aquarium surpassed Monterey Bay Aquarium in the United States to achieve the world's largest collection of displayed jellyfish species.

Approximately 20 minutes by taxi from JR Uetsu Main Line Tsuruoka Station, or about 15 minutes from Uzen-Oyama Station.
Take the "Kamo Aquarium via Yunonhama Onsen" bus from Tsuruoka Station (approx. 30-40 minutes, 8.5 round trips on weekdays, 5 round trips on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays). Get off at the "Kamo Aquarium" stop.
From Tsuruoka IC on the Yamagata Expressway, take National Route 7 and National Route 112 to the Kamo district, then enter Yamagata Prefectural Route 50 (approx. 15 minutes).
From Shonai Airport IC on the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway, head towards National Route 112 and enter towards Yunonhama (approx. 17 minutes).
It's also within 20 minutes from Tsuruoka-Nishi IC, Mise IC, and Igaikawa IC (all on the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway).

If using a bus, take the limousine bus to Tsuruoka Station, and then transfer to a bus bound for Yunonhama Onsen via Kamo or to Yuto. Show route
