Rinno-ji Temple is a temple associated with the Date clan. In 1441, at the wish of Ran-tei Myogyoku Zenni, the wife of the ninth-generation Date Masamune, it was founded by the eleventh-generation Mochiie in Yanagawa, Fukushima Prefecture. Following the relocation of the Date clan's castle, it was moved to its current location in Aoba-ku, Sendai City in 1602, during the time of the seventeenth-generation Date Masamune, taking on its present form. Deeply revered by Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai Domain, the temple features historically significant structures and a captivating stroll garden overflowing with seasonal blooms. Enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the year, with cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn foliage. Recommended for those seeking a tranquil escape from the city bustle, surrounded by serenity and nature. The grounds also include a teahouse and a study, offering glimpses into history and culture. The garden features ponds and waterfalls, showcasing the beauty of nature. Spend some time here and lose yourself in a moment of peace and tranquility.
