Houmei Shijuhachitaki is a series of waterfalls located in Sakunami, Aoba-ku, Sendai, upstream of the Hirose River. As its name suggests, it's a collection of waterfalls of varying sizes, said to be named after the sound of their water, which resembles the cry of a phoenix. Located just off National Route 48, you can witness the majestic sight of numerous waterfalls cascading down against the backdrop of Kamakurayama Mountain. Nestled in a lush green forest, the sight of the crystal-clear water flowing through this serene environment offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
