Shiogama Shrine, located in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture, is a historically significant shrine that has long been a center of faith as the leading shrine of Mutsu Province. The enshrined deities are Shiotuchi no Okami (god of salt) and Shiotuchi no Onna-gami (goddess of salt), revered as sea deities.
