Overview

Nagai Dam is a gravity concrete dam built on the Nogawa River in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture. Completed in 2011, it boasts a height of 125.5 meters, a length of 381 meters, and a total storage capacity of 51 million tons. The dam created Nagai Hyakushu Lake, a stunning reservoir surrounded by mountains. Nagai Dam serves multiple purposes, including flood control, irrigation, water supply, hydroelectric power generation, and maintaining the flow of the Nogawa River. Nagai Hyakushu Lake harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding nature, showcasing breathtaking scenery throughout the year.
