Fuji-azami Line

Overview

Fuji-azami Line is a roughly 15km-long road stretching to Subashiriguchi (around 2,000 meters above sea level), the starting point of the Subashiri Route, a climbing route to Mount Fuji from the Shizuoka Prefecture side. As you ascend, the scenery transforms from lush green mountains to the magnificent Mount Fuji, offering a diverse driving experience with abundant alpine flowers blooming along the way. In spring, the Fuji-azami, a thistle native to Mount Fuji, blossoms, captivating many visitors with its beauty. Fuji-azami Line also serves as an access road to the fifth station of Mount Fuji's Subashiri trail, making it a popular route for climbers. Summer brings bustling crowds of mountain climbers, while autumn showcases vibrant red and yellow foliage. Winter paints the landscape in white, offering stunning views of Mount Fuji covered in snow.
