Mukabaki Falls, located in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, is an awe-inspiring spectacle, a roughly 100-meter-high waterfall selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. The falls are accessible as part of a hiking trail up Mount Mukabaki, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of nature while hiking. The trail is well-maintained, making it suitable for beginners. Along the way, you'll encounter diverse scenery featuring giant and unusual rock formations. Upon reaching the falls, you'll be overwhelmed by their power. The roar of the water cascading down and the spray are truly magnificent. While you can descend to the base of the falls, please exercise caution as the footing can be uneven. The area surrounding the falls includes Mukabaki Shrine and hiking trails to Mount Mukabaki. Mukabaki Shrine has been an object of faith for a long time, and legends of Yamato Takeru are associated with it. Mount Mukabaki, also a site of long-standing reverence, is also linked to the legends of Yamato Takeru. Mount Mukabaki, standing at 608 meters, offers panoramic views of Nobeoka City from its summit. Mukabaki Falls, surrounded by magnificent nature, is a scenic spot attracting many tourists. The surrounding area also offers hot springs and campsites, allowing for a full day of enjoyment.
