Mount Atago was once called "Kasasa no Misaki/Kasasa-yama," and a legend remains telling of the meeting and marriage of Ninigi-no-Mikoto and Konohanasakuya-hime. Reflecting this mythology, the observation deck features a bell said to bring happiness when rung by two people, and a heart-shaped monument where couples can attach padlocks to symbolize their love.
