The Kikuchi Aso Skyline is a roughly 28km-long road located in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Situated at a high altitude of approximately 900m to 1100m, it's renowned as a scenic spot offering breathtaking views of the Aso Five Mountains, the Kuju mountain range, and the Aso Valley. Observation decks and parking areas are conveniently located along the route, allowing for easy stops to enjoy the scenery. The view from Daikanbo peak is particularly spectacular, providing a panoramic vista of the Aso Five Mountains, the Kuju mountain range, and the Aso Valley. The scenery changes dramatically throughout the year: vibrant cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, stunning autumn foliage, and winter snow. Besides driving, cycling and walking are also highly recommended. Cycling routes cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced cyclists. A leisurely stroll allows you to fully appreciate the natural beauty at your own pace. At night, you can enjoy a romantic evening under a breathtaking canopy of stars. For those without a car, buses and taxis are available. Buses run from Kumamoto City to Aso City. A taxi ride from Aso City to the Kikuchi Aso Skyline takes approximately 30 minutes.
