A park selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots, boasting approximately 1,000 cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Overview
Located in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefectural Mitsuike Park is a vast comprehensive park centered around three former irrigation ponds. The park is home to approximately 1,000 cherry trees, making it a popular cherry blossom viewing spot in spring.
The park features a wide variety of cherry blossom varieties, including Someiyoshino, weeping cherry, and double cherry blossoms, offering visitors a diverse display. During the cherry blossom season, a nighttime illumination event adds a magical touch to the already beautiful scenery.
Beyond the cherry blossoms, the park is filled with various plants, providing stunning seasonal displays. From the cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and autumn foliage, Mitsuike Park offers beauty throughout the year.
Mitsuike Park also boasts excellent sports facilities, including baseball fields, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. In addition, there are playgrounds for children, a park center for relaxation, and other amenities catering to all ages.
The park also features the "Korea Garden," created to commemorate the friendship between Japan and Korea. This garden, designed in traditional Korean style, offers a unique atmosphere distinct from Japanese gardens.
Mitsuike Park is a captivating park where nature and culture harmonize. If you're visiting Yokohama, be sure to pay a visit.
