Mizumoto Park is a Tokyo Metropolitan park located in Katsushika Ward, boasting the largest natural area within Tokyo's 23 wards.
Originally the riverbed of the old Tonegawa River, this area was transformed into a waterside landscape called "Koai-tame" during Tokugawa Iemitsu's Edo River improvement project.
Mizumoto Park was developed around this Koai-tame, and is now a beloved park, one of the most naturally abundant in Tokyo.
Various sized waterways flow through the park, offering picturesque waterside views.
Lush greenery, including poplar and metasequoia groves, provides beautiful scenery throughout the year.
Spring brings cherry blossoms and lively crowds enjoying hanami (cherry blossom viewing).
Summer offers shade under the dense foliage.
Autumn displays stunning autumn leaves, perfect for leisurely strolls.
Winter presents a beautiful snowscape and a world of tranquility.
The park also features barbecue areas, campsites, and facilities like the Mizube no Ikimono-kan (Waterside Creatures Museum) and Green Plaza, offering opportunities for nature study and all-day enjoyment.
Mizumoto Park is the perfect place to escape the city bustle and connect with nature. Be sure to visit!
