Futatabi Park is a vast park nestled in the lush nature of the mid-slopes of Mount Rokko. The park's origins lie in reforestation efforts undertaken in the mid-Meiji era to restore the deforested northern summit area of Mount Rokko. Opened in 1937, it is now a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty. The park features Shuhogahara Pond, a large pond whose shores are known as one of the best spots in the Rokko mountain range to view autumn leaves. In spring, azaleas bloom in profusion, creating a breathtaking spectacle of pink blossoms. Autumn brings a stunning display of vibrant red and yellow foliage, transforming the mountains into a living painting.
