Overview
Atera no Nana-taki is a series of seven waterfalls with a total drop of 62 meters, located in Atera River, Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture. Designated as a Place of Scenic Beauty and a Natural Monument, it's also one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, captivating visitors with its magnificent spectacle.
The seven waterfalls cascade down a conglomerate rock fault within a natural forest. This conglomerate rock is called "Kobakuishi" (child-hugging stone), and there's a local legend that it brings good fortune in having children.
Legend also says that Abe no Seimei, a renowned Onmyoji (master of Yin and Yang), practiced his arts here during his youth. A well he supposedly used still exists today, adding to the historical intrigue.
The second and fifth plunge pools boast potholes reaching depths of 7 meters, showcasing the powerful forces of nature.

Public Transportation: Take the S-Bus Akiha Nana-taki Line from Honchoshi Station or Mikawa-Ohno Station on the JR Iida Line and get off at the "Nana-taki-guchi" bus stop. It's about a 15-minute walk from there.
Car: From National Route 257, head north on Aichi Prefectural Road 439 (Notose Shinshiro Line). Turn right at the Meiji-bashi Nishi intersection, then immediately turn right again onto Aichi Prefectural Road 442 (Horai Sakuma Line). After about 6.4 kilometers, you'll find a dedicated parking lot on your left. It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot. Show route

If the parking lot is full, there is no other parking available nearby. Waiting on the prefectural road or parking in areas other than designated parking lots will cause traffic congestion and inconvenience to local residents and other road users, so please refrain from doing so.
