While relatively small—with a circumference of about 1.5km, a highest point of 46m, and an area of 120,000 square meters—its beauty lies in its dramatic rock formations and rich ecosystem, attracting many visitors. Takeshima's iconic 'Meotoiwa' (Husband and Wife Rocks), two rocks standing side-by-side, have long been revered as a sacred site for matchmaking.
