The Ryuno townscape is a designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture. It once thrived as the castle town of the Wakisaka clan and later prospered through its soy sauce brewing industry. Traditional townhouses still line the streets, their whitewashed walls and storehouses creating a stunning landscape. Take your time strolling through this historic area. Be sure to visit historic structures like the ruins of Ryuno Castle and Juen-tei. Ryuno Castle ruins were once the home of the Ryuno clan. While the castle keep no longer stands, the stone walls and the main castle hall have been restored, preserving a sense of the past. The main castle hall is open to the public free of charge, offering panoramic views of the castle town. Nearby is Juen-tei, the former residence of the Wakisaka clan, designated as an Important Cultural Property along with its garden.
