A place to learn from the lessons of the Great East Japan Earthquake and consider future preparedness.
The Great East Japan Earthquake Learning and Documentation Room is a facility established by Miyagi Seikyo Cooperative to pass on the lessons learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake to future generations. The exhibition room displays photographs, documents, and testimonials from the disaster, allowing visitors to realistically experience the situation at that time. Particularly impactful is the corner showcasing Miyagi Seikyo's efforts in the recovery of the affected areas. You can learn about how Miyagi Seikyo supported the people in the disaster-stricken areas through various activities, including disaster relief, provision of supplies, and volunteer work. Furthermore, a theater room screens footage from the time of the earthquake. Watching these videos allows you to understand the magnitude of the disaster and the suffering of the affected people. The Great East Japan Earthquake Learning and Documentation Room doesn't simply convey the tragic aspects of the earthquake; it also provides an opportunity to consider the importance of future preparedness. Please visit, learn from the lessons of the earthquake, and carry them forward to the future.
