Izena Tamagoten

Izena Tamagoten is a historical structure located in Izena Village, Okinawa Prefecture, and is associated with King Shō En, the founder of the second Shō dynasty of the Ryukyu Kingdom. King Shō En was born on Izena Island in 1439 and later ascended to the throne. Tamagoten is believed to be the birthplace of King Shō En and is a precious structure that preserves the atmosphere of that era. The Tamagoten is a single-story wooden building with a distinctive tiled roof. Inside, you'll find rooms believed to have been used by King Shō En, along with exhibits that offer insights into the lifestyle of the time.
