Kouri Ocean Tower is an observation tower located on Kouri Island in northern Okinawa Island. Situated just past the Kouri Ohashi Bridge, it rewards you with magnificent scenery after the satisfying drive across the bridge. From the observation deck, you can see the Kouri Ohashi Bridge, the emerald green sea, and distant islands. The contrast between the bridge and the blue sea is breathtakingly beautiful.
You can travel to the tower via a cart through a garden lush with subtropical plants. The view from the cart windows is like a scene from a movie. During the cart ride, you can listen to an audio guide explaining the history and sights of Kouri Island.
The facility includes the Kouri Island Museum, which displays materials related to the history of Kouri Island; a shell museum exhibiting over 10,000 shells of 1,500 varieties from around the world; a restaurant; and shops.
At the Kouri Island Museum, you can learn about the history and culture of Kouri Island. The shell museum allows you to see various types of shells. The restaurant offers Okinawan cuisine, Western food, and café menus. The shops sell souvenirs and miscellaneous goods exclusive to Kouri Island.
Kouri Ocean Tower is a must-visit tourist spot when visiting Kouri Island. Enjoy the magnificent views and immerse yourself in the history and culture of Kouri Island.
