Tada Gin-Douzan is a mine ruin located in Inagawa-cho, Kawanbe-gun, Hyogo Prefecture, that produced silver and copper from the Heian period until 1973. Situated in the northern part of the Osaka Plain, it’s surrounded by abundant nature. Throughout its long history, various techniques were employed to extract silver and copper. Today, the remaining tunnels and structures offer a glimpse into the mine's past. The Aoki-mambo mine shaft, in particular, allows visitors to enter the tunnel and experience the very place where miners once worked. The tunnel stays cool, making it a pleasant visit even in the summer. You can also see large outcrops, air shafts, and open-pit mining traces, experiencing the impressive scale of the hand-dug mine. The Tada Gin-Douzan ruins also feature the Tada Gin-Douzan Yuukyuu no Yakata museum. Here, you can learn about the mine's history, mining techniques, and the lives of the people who lived there.
