A vast park where you can relax in a space surrounded by greenery and the ocean, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Overview
Chiba Prefectural Makuhari Seaside Park is a prefectural urban park located in Mihama Ward, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. Situated in the reclaimed land of Makuhari New Town, it opened in 1987 as a precious green space and a venue for international exchange. The expansive grounds boast a variety of facilities, including a Japanese garden, a teahouse, a large grassy plaza, a flower clock, a children's playground, a promenade of sculptures and greenery, a bustling plaza, and a creative plaza.
The Japanese garden, "Mihamaen," allows visitors to appreciate the beauty of a traditional Japanese garden with its pond, waterfall, and rock formations. Within the garden is "Shōraitei," a Sukiya-style teahouse using Kitayama cedar, where you can enjoy matcha and sweets while spending a tranquil moment.
The spacious grassy plaza is perfect for picnics and sports. With plenty of children's play areas, it's also ideal for families. A roughly 1.7km long walking path winds through the park, perfect for leisurely strolls.
Makuhari Seaside Park offers a precious escape from the urban clamor, providing a space to connect with nature. Enjoy the scenery, which changes beautifully with the seasons, making it enjoyable year-round. Be sure to visit!
