Izumi Nature Park is a municipal park (scenic park) located in Wakaba Ward, Chiba City, and is designated as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. A large part of the park is designated as a special conservation area for the Higashi Chiba suburban greenery, preserving precious natural features. Within the park, you'll find famous cherry blossom and autumn foliage spots, a plum grove, a katakuri (dogtooth violet) habitat, a lawn square with blooming yama-tsutsuji (mountain azalea), an iris field with approximately 6,000 irises, a lotus pond with flowering Gyoshan Beniren (a type of lotus), a flowering tree square, a maple valley, and more, offering seasonal flowers and autumn colors. Rare wildflowers such as katakuri, ichirinsou (anemone raddeana), nirinsou (anemone flaccida), and ikarisou (epimedium) also bloom here. In spring, approximately 300 cherry trees bloom brilliantly, painting the entire park in shades of pink. A wide variety of cherry blossoms are represented, including Someiyoshino, Yamazakura, and Shidarezakura. In autumn, the maple valley and other areas showcase stunning autumn foliage, with trees ablaze in fiery reds and yellows. Well-maintained walking paths throughout the park offer pleasant strolls. There are also plenty of playgrounds and open spaces for children, making it a great place for families. Izumi Nature Park is a highly recommended spot to enjoy nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
