A hydrangea haven in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, boasting approximately 20,000 hydrangea plants in full bloom.
Shingu Hydrangea Village, located in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, is a renowned hydrangea spot where approximately 20,000 hydrangea plants burst into bloom across a 4-hectare mountain slope. In the Nakano district of Shingu-cho, 2,000 hydrangea plants were initially planted along a farm road in 1975 as a community improvement project. Through the dedicated efforts of the residents, this has blossomed into a major tourist attraction with around 20,000 hydrangeas. The annual "Shingu Hydrangea Festival," held from mid- to late June, showcases a vibrant array of hydrangea colors along the hydrangea road. In addition to strolling along the hydrangea road, visitors can enjoy an aerial view by riding the monorail. The monorail offers a panoramic vista of the hydrangea sea, providing a unique perspective to appreciate their beauty. During the festival, you can also savor local delicacies such as "Ajisai-mi dango" (hydrangeas-shaped dumplings) and wild vegetable udon noodles. Shingu Hydrangea Village is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the abundant natural beauty.
