In spring, the "Nagaoka Fragrant Rose Garden" is a must-see, boasting approximately 2,400 rose bushes of about 800 varieties. This unique rose garden, focused on fragrance, offers a truly immersive sensory experience.
You'll find a kaleidoscope of seasonal blooms throughout the year: tulips in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and cosmos in autumn, offering a constantly changing landscape.
The park features two areas: the Health Zone and the Satoyama Field Museum. The Health Zone includes a large grassy area called "Midori no Senjōjiki" (Green Thousand-Mat Space), a playground area, a bouncy dome, a grass sledding hill, a water play area, and rest facilities like the "Hana to Midori no Yakata" (Flowers and Greenery Hall) and "Nukumori no Yakata" (Warmth Hall).
The Satoyama Field Museum offers opportunities to connect with nature and experience Satoyama culture. The base facility, "Satoyama Kōryūkan Echigo Nian," provides insights into the history and culture of the Satoyama region. Other attractions include traditional houses, the Koshi no Satoyamakan, and the "Taiken Kōbō Katakuri" (Katakuri Experience Workshop) with hands-on cooking experiences and various programs.
Throughout the year, the park hosts numerous events, including the "Katakuri Million Plants Festival" and "Tulip Festival" in spring, the "Hydrangea Festival" in summer, the "Cosmos Festival" in autumn, and the "Snowdrop Festival" in winter.
