A park preserving a rural landscape, offering water play and charcoal-making experiences—a fun spot for the whole family.
Shiki no Mori Park is a prefectural urban park (scenic park) straddling Midori-ku and Asahi-ku in Yokohama City. Covering a total area of 45.3 hectares, it partially opened on April 1, 1988. The park features a preserved rural landscape, with facilities for experiential learning, including a pond for water play and a charcoal-making hut. The park hosts volunteer-led charcoal-making and rice cultivation by elementary school students, and depending on the season, you can even observe fireflies. There are many opportunities to observe kingfishers foraging, attracting photography enthusiasts and bird watchers. Shiki no Mori Park is a place to connect with nature and refresh your mind and body. It's perfect for a full day of family fun, but also offers plenty to engage adults, such as nature observation and photography. With excellent access to downtown Yokohama, it's a must-visit destination.
