The museum is housed in a beautiful brick building with a front yard facing Glover Street in Nagasaki's Minamiyamate district. The first floor houses a children's bookstore and museum shop, while the second and third floors are exhibition spaces. The second and third floors feature permanent and special exhibitions, primarily showcasing original illustrations from children's books.
The museum building itself beautifully embodies the world of picture books, with a captivating exterior and interior that will soothe your soul. Next to the museum is Douwakan, a children's bookstore where you can purchase picture books.
