Year-end and New Year's holidays, Mondays (except from April 29th to May 5th and from July 20th to August 31st, when we are open daily including Mondays. Mondays are closed from January 4th to April 28th, from May 6th to July 19th, and from September 1st to December 28th. However, if a Monday falls on a public holiday, the following weekday will be closed instead.)

The Kagawa Prefectural Higashiyama Kaii Setouchi Museum is located on Sayajima Island in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture, right next to the Seto Ohashi Bridge. It houses a significant collection of works by the master of Japanese painting, Higashiyama Kaii, with a focus on his printmaking. Higashiyama Kaii is famous for his landscape paintings, which possess a unique world view, combining tranquility and strength. The museum boasts a magnificent location overlooking the breathtaking Seto Inland Sea and the Seto Ohashi Bridge, with views extending to the artist's grandfather's birthplace, Hibiki Island. Designed by architect Yoshiro Taniguchi, the museum building is simple yet sophisticatedly modern. The bright and open exhibition rooms provide ample space to appreciate Kaii's work. The view of the Seto Ohashi Bridge from the museum is simply stunning. The museum also features a cafe where you can relax and enjoy the scenery, savoring original sweets and drinks. The museum shop offers souvenirs such as goods based on Higashiyama Kaii's works and local Kagawa products. It's the perfect spot to visit in conjunction with sightseeing on the Seto Ohashi Bridge.
