Overview
The Yuki no Bijutsukan (Snow Museum) is a museum dedicated to snowflakes, located in the Hokkaido Traditional Arts and Crafts Village in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. Opened in 1991, its Byzantine-style architecture houses a cafe terrace, a snow crystal room, a spiral staircase, and an ice corridor. The museum also features a 200-seat music hall that has been used for various musical events and weddings. The ice corridor is cleverly designed with a double-glass structure and an air gap between the glass and the corridor to prevent condensation. The museum showcases photographs of snowflakes taken by Teisaku Kobayashi, along with exhibits and videos that reveal the beauty and wonder of snowflakes. A music hall dedicated to snowflakes allows visitors to enjoy music in an enchanting atmosphere. The cafe terrace offers snow-crystal-themed sweets and drinks, and the museum shop sells snow crystal-themed souvenirs. The Yuki no Bijutsukan offers a heartwarming experience where you can appreciate the beauty and wonder of snowflakes.
