Yashimagahara Marshland

Overview

Yashimagahara Marshland is a 1,670m high plateau marsh located in Shimosuwa-machi, Suwa-gun, Nagano Prefecture. Situated at the southern edge of the Kiso-Fuji highlands, it boasts a vast expanse of wetlands against a backdrop of stunning mountains, offering breathtaking views of alpine plants in bloom throughout the year. Summer is particularly spectacular, with vibrant displays of rengetsu-tsutsuji (Japanese fire lily) and nikko-kisuge (day lilies). Well-maintained wooden walkways make exploration easy and enjoyable.
