The snow walls melt over time, so it's recommended to visit as early in the season as possible.
Because of the high altitude, temperatures are low and winds can be strong. We recommend wearing warm clothing and non-slip shoes.
Don't forget sun protection! Be sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
Surrounded by the majestic nature of the Northern Alps Tateyama mountain range, the Snow Wall of Otani creates a breathtaking spectacle in spring with snow walls formed by road snow removal. These walls reach an astonishing 20 meters high, resembling a snow fortress. The contrast between the white snow and the blue sky is so beautiful you'll want to capture it in photos.
The Snow Wall Walk allows you to experience the surreal feeling of walking between these massive snow walls. The path, surrounded by towering snow, is filled with a quiet, mystical atmosphere. Melting snow streams nearby, adding a touch of spring's revitalizing energy.
The peak season for the Snow Wall Walk is from late April to early May. As the snow walls melt over time, visiting earlier is recommended.
When visiting the Snow Wall of Otani, warm clothing is essential. The high altitude means low temperatures and potential strong winds. Wear thick clothing and non-slip shoes. Don't forget sun protection—bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
The Snow Wall of Otani is an unforgettable tourist spot where you can experience the power and beauty of nature. We highly recommend a visit.
